I suppressed my true personality for almost a decade.
There were things I wanted to say. Things I wanted to do.
But I kept it all inside. Locked up.
Because deep down I believed it was impossible to become the person that lived in my head.
My ideal self.
Goethe once said: “Everything is hard before it is easy.”
As an introvert, you have a gifted mind. You’re built different.
You can become the person you dream to become.
You can live the life you dream to live.
But the path is not easy.
Because your old self will do everything in its power to keep you trapped in your old ways.
If you are tired of living as a watered-down version of yourself, consider this letter as a wake up call.
Everything that I’m going to share in this letter are tried and tested practical methods.
These methods may feel too simple, but trust me, they work.
And they have the power to transform you into your best self.
Let’s dive right in.
Create a Map
Imagine you decide to visit a new city.
What’s the first thing you do?
You type the destination in your car’s navigation system.
Because without clear directions of where you’re going, you’ll be lost.
Life is not that different.
The human mind is prone to distractions.
If you don’t tell it what you want it to do and where you want it to take you, it will run on autopilot.
And by autopilot I mean it will chase only pleasure and comfort.
To become a better version of yourself or to achieve any practical goal, you need a map.
A map that shows clear directions of what you want to achieve.
This is the reason why the first week of my Self-transformation program “Awakening” is focused on self-enquiry.
Understanding the subtleties of your own personality.
Take some time out and put it on paper.
Because when you put it on paper, the map gets saved on your subconscious. And then it aligns your thoughts and actions to your goal automatically.
Make a map for 2025. Month by month.
Write down in detail:
– Things you want to change
– Things you want to achieve
And add a “WHY” to each one of them. The ‘why’ will keep you motivated. Because now in addition to the map, you have a rational reason to do it.
Don’t be in a rush. Take your time.
And once you have the map ready, now it’s time to remove fear and self-doubt.
The Antidote to Self-doubt and Fear
Whenever we decide to make a change in our lives, we all have to face resistance.
This resistance stems from fear and doubt.
The mind creates resistance through cooking up imaginary scenarios.
It will create thoughts like:
– This will never going to work
– I can change anytime I want
– We can start from tomorrow
– What will people think
– It’s impossible
– It will fail
– It’s too hard
To put it simply, it will create all kinds of excuses to stop you.
And let me warn you, fighting this resistance is a recipe for failure.
Don’t fight it, observe it.
And by observing I mean, dissect it through your rational mind instead of emotions.
Ask yourself,
“Is it for real?”
“Do I have any real proof that I can’t do it or I can’t make this change happen?”
And trust me, when you try to understand it instead of fighting it, the resistance will disappear.
Because, the mind can only argue with you based on a reason.
The reason can be either rational or emotional.
And when you remove your emotions and argue with it based on rationality, it will lose.
So, whenever you face resistance, your first step should be to question it rationally.
Once you’ve overcome doubt and fear, the next step is to stick with the map.
The Power of Consistency
We’ve all heard the story of the epic race between the rabbit and the tortoise.
That story is the perfect example for showing us the value of consistent action.
Even when the tortoise was a hundred times slower than the rabbit, it won the race.
Why?
Because it stayed consistent.
Doesn’t matter how slow you go, but the key is to remain consistent.
It’s a fact that if you stay consistent with anything for 21 days, it becomes a habit.
And when something becomes a habit, it starts feeling effortless.
Just like brushing your teeth every morning. You don’t have to think or put in any effort. It happens automatically.
I’m not saying it’s going to be a piece of cake.
Everything is hard before it is easy.
The initial days will take some effort, but once you gain momentum, it will keep you motivated to keep going.
And once you start, and gain some momentum, the next step is to apply the most powerful law of the universe.
The Law of the Universe: Cause & Effect
Whoever you are right now and wherever you are right now is an effect of the actions you took years ago.
Our lives are nothing but a long chain of cause and effect.
The law is simple:
– To create an effect, create a cause
– To remove an effect, remove the cause
For example:
If you want to lose weight, you have to work out and eat healthy.
The effort you put in everyday is the cause that will create an effect in the form of weight loss.
Or if you want to increase your income as an entrepreneur, you have to create more value for your customers, in return it will create more money as an effect.
Every being on Earth is bound by this law.
If you don’t perform the action, you don’t receive the fruit.
Simple as that.
And the last, and perhaps the most important, step is being patient.
Patience is also a Form of Action
In the last 4 years, I have spoken with hundreds of people in my one-on-one session consultation.
Some of them lacked a proper plan.
Some were full of self-doubt.
Some could never stay consistent.
But the most common reason for not reaching their goals was lack of patience.
Their brain was plagued by instant gratification.
They tried what I advised for a week or two and then gave up.
This picture clearly shows their plight.
There’s a simple saying “All good things take time”.
You will get there, but you have to accept that it will take some time.
Seeds don’t become trees in a day, dear friend.
Take consistent action, be patient, and stick with your map.
And you will be half-way there.
