I usually share things I’ve experienced as an introvert.
Things that help you become better. Things that give you peace and calm. Things that help you re-connect with you true nature.
But today, I want to share with you something different. Something so powerful, that I couldn’t wait till Sunday.
I discovered a secret that can help you live your dream life.
Now everything you’ll read below is based one hundred percent on personal experience. That means I’ve not read these things in a book or seen on a YouTube video. It’s real. It happened to me. In fact, it has happened to me many times. But I didn’t see it before with the clarity I see it now.
And trust me, if you follow it the way I’m going to tell you in a moment, it will work for you too.
Now before I give you the exact steps let me share with you some proofs of how I unknowingly got the things I wanted in my life.
Proof #1
I left my job as a creative director back in 2020. I left it because I couldn’t take it anymore. Dealing with people and their egos was taking a toll on my mental health. I couldn’t live with the feeling that I was lying to myself. So, I left it.
Next came the money problem.
My my first objective was to create a source of income that could at-least take care of my basic needs. Now here is something important that I will explain later, for now, I’m bolding it: I was clear about what I wanted.
I was scrolling twitter, and out of the blue I posted something random. And it got like 20 likes. Now, trust me that had never happened before. It took me by surprise. I posted some more, and again I got maybe the same number of likes.
And I thought…. why not start writing online.
Three months later, I launched my first book, and it sold more copies than I expected.
My goal was simple: Make a living as a writer.
And I got it.
Proof #2
I was looking to buy a car. I was confused between a Honda and Toyota.
I had two simple needs: Safety and reliability. Both had it.
Now again: When I was confused between two cars, I couldn’t buy it. Why? Because I gave myself all kinds of reasons. I don’t have the money to buy top model. Mileage. Maintenance. Looks. Automatic or manual. Diesel or petrol. Long-term resale value.
But the moment I zeroed in on one choice, something shifted. I got obsessed. All I could think of was getting that one car. I watched hundreds reviews on YouTube (I’m not exaggerating). Long-term ownership reviews. Specs and features. How it drove on highways, how it drove in the mountains. Music system. Safety. Pros and cons. Everything.
In a month, I got the car.
And here’s the special part, I received the money in that same month through a writing project to buy the expensive one out of the two. And I got the top model variant.
Again the same pattern repeated, it happened when: I was clear about what I wanted.
Proof #3
For any introvert, choosing a wrong life partner can completely destroy their mental health.
That fear was real.
I’m the kind the person who dates to marry. Casual dating has never been my thing.
I’ve had my string of relationships, but never found someone who made me feel… I can spend my life with this person.
And only now have I realised why I couldn’t find that person. Because I never knew what I wanted. What were my needs. My expectations. How I wanted to be treated.
In short, I wasn’t clear about what I wanted.
After a lot of self-reflection, I got in touch with my needs. I understood what kind of person would be best suited for my personality.
And a few months later, I met someone. Someone who understood me. Cared for me. And above all, accepted me the way I was.
Again the same pattern repeated, it happened when: I was clear about what I wanted.
And now that I look back, every object I have desired in my life followed the same pattern. Trust me, every single one.
My phone, my laptop, a wooden table I was crazy obsessed about, a dairy, car, my house. Literally everything.
Clear object → Obsession → I got it
The secret to getting what you want in your life:
Yes, it’s being clear about what you want.
But, there’s something more.
Obsession & Object.
You have to be obsessed about the OBJECT OF YOUR DESIRE.
If you want this process to work fast, desire for things that already exist.
Things that you can see.
For example, if you want to become rich, let’s say a millionaire, it may not work.
Reason? Because millionaire is not an object. It’s vague. It’s a label.
Instead, desire for things that you want to experience as a millionaire.
You may want a 5 bedroom penthouse out for sale, don’t focus on becoming a millionaire, focus on the penthouse.
Why?
Because you can now say to yourself: I am absolutely clear on what I want.
You can see it. You can imagine yourself living in it. You can imagine how you want to decorate it. You can imagine how you’ll be living in it.
The mistake most people make is they desire for things that are vague.
Don’t just desire to be a millionaire, instead desire the house you want to live, the car you want to drive, the lifestyle you want to have as millionaire.
Don’t just desire to help the poor, instead desire to run an NGO that can feed the homeless.
Don’t just desire to be healthy and fit, instead desire six-pack abs, running a marathon, or wearing the outfits you dream about.
Elon didn’t just dream about: I want to go to Mars. He focused on the clear object, a rocket, that can take him to Mars.
Focus on objects. Real, concrete objects that already exist. That you can see.
And once you zero on the object, obsess about it. Think about it day and night. Don’t let anything else interfere with what you want.
Never be in a dual mind state. Never hold two choices at the same time in your mind. Focus on just “one thing”.
Another important suggestion:
While you’re in between this process, stay away from social media as much as possible.
Why?
Because, impressions from the outside world interfere with your focus on the object of your desire. It can create a dual mind state. It can create new desires. Or change what you desire.
It can also create doubt and confusion like what if it doesn’t work. Or what if I made the wrong choice. Because social media constantly shows things that you like. Algorithms are designed in a way to show you more of what you like.
And when it shows you something that’s more tempting or feels better than what you have already zeroed in on, you’ll go into a dual mind state. This or that???? And this confusion will destroy your focus. And you may end up not getting anything.
Conclusion
Step 1: Be very clear about what you want. The “OBJECT” of your desire.
Step 2: Obsess about it as much as you can.
Step 3: Stay away from anyone or anything that may change you desire and put you in a dual mind state.
Step 4: Take the action that comes naturally that’s aligned with your desire.
Remember: Do not worry about “HOW” it’s gonna happen. That’s not your job. Your job is to keep your focus tightly on the OBJECT of your desire. Do not let anything interfere with it.
And you will get it.
Stay blessed,
Karun
