Introversion is NOT a Label, Here’s What it is

2 min

Last week, I got a Dm.

A guy, who also follows me, DM’d and said: Bro, why don’t you ever say anything negative about introverts, you just keep praising them. And this is nothing, I don’t know which “reel” he watched, he said, introversion is just another label, we are all one. Wow. As if I didn’t know.

Anyway, many of you may have this doubt, or a wrong perception. Maybe you have assumed after reading my tweets (due to things like social proof, likes, and comments) that whatever I am saying is right. So, I want to make it very clear that there is nothing like that.

Today I want to share with you my definition of introversion. And I believe, after reading this, you will be 100% sure that it’s not a label but something way deeper.

Introversion is not a label, it’s a lifestyle. Lions and tigers are both big cats. Just take a bunch of lions and put them in the jungle and see what will happen. They will be tripping and falling over roots and bushes. The opposite is true for a tiger.

Similarly, humans are also built different. Both physically and mentally. Different lifestyles. Different habits. Introverts are like tigers. They hunt alone and thrive in solitude. Extroverts are like Lions. They hunt in groups and thrive in company.

I can confidently say that the majority of introverts are more intelligent than the majority of extroverts. They have to be. They live alone. And to survive alone, we naturally need a sharp mind and high sensitivity. It’s purely scientific and evolutionary.

Nature designed you in a certain way. And if you don’t respect it, you will suffer. It’s like a tiger hunting zebras in the savannah. Not gonna happen. Tigers hunt with stealth and intelligence. Lions hunt with strategy and groups. Both big cats, but different styles of hunting.

Physically we may all look the same, but mentally we are very different.

My intention is not to change you or label you, my intention is to just reflect you to you. Peace comes when we live as our true selves. When we enter the skin we’re most comfortable in.

Do you think Nikola Tesla would have invented electricity if he had been out partying all night with his friends?
Do you think Emily Dickinson would have written all those soulful poems if she hadn’t locked herself in her room and observed life?

These people became great because they stopped giving a shit about what’s considered “normal” according to society. Reminds me of Frank Sinatra’s song “I did it my way” (go listen to it). That’s the essence of an introvert.  If you find it hard to let go of this brainwashing, consider reading my book “Born to Stand Out”.

Normal is what gives you peace.

Normal is what you’re comfortable with.

Normal is what makes you feel like you.

And I’ll repeat, introversion is not a label, it’s not a community, it’s not a cult, it’s not a cause, it’s your natural state of being.

It’s home.

Embrace it, dear friend. You’re build different.

Stay blessed,
Karun
