As an introvert, your mind is sharp. Intelligent. And highly sensitive.
And sometimes this gift can become your biggest curse.
Because the more sensitive you are, greater is the tendency to get affected by emotions, opinions, and suggestions of other people.
Even if you did all the research and invested days and weeks to reach a decision, and in the middle if someone gives you a contradictory opinion, you immediately start questioning yourself.
Why does this happen?
The answer is very simple: lack of belief in yourself.
When you don’t believe in yourself, you suffer.
Why don’t you believe in yourself?
Because you’re bombarded by hundreds and thousands of conflicting opinions everyday.
And when your mind is crowded by these conflicting opinions, it’s impossible for you to have single-mindedness.
Without this single-mindedness, it’s impossible to act confidently.
It’s impossible to take actions that lead to a happy and bright future.
To have this single-mindedness, you need to connect with your true self.
You have to peel off the layers of societal conditioning and know who you truly are.
The real self that’s buried under layers and layers of ideas and opinions of other people.
To connect with your true self, start observing yourself from a distance.
For example, if you’re looking at a tree, observe who’s looking.
We don’t see with our eyes, we see through our eyes.
Who’s the one who ‘sees’?
The one who sees through the eyes is the OBSERVER.
The Self. The eternal, ever-present self.
The pure consciousness that has been with you since the day you were born.
Without this consciousness, your body is dust.
This consciousness is the life force inside you.
There are thousands of electrical appliances.
They all look and function in different ways.
But the electricity that powers them is the same.
Same for a refrigerator, same for a bulb, same for a heater.
Without electricity, they all become useless.
In the same way, humans, animals, trees, and fish all look different, but what powers them all is the same.
It’s consciousness. The life force. The observer.
Spend time with it.
That’s your true nature.
You’re not your mind, body, or emotions; you’re the one that observes.
Observes without judgement, without opinions, without biases.
It simply observes.
Self-observation is a practice that will make you confident. Fearless. And will give you a “not give a f*ck” kinda aura.
How?
Because lack of confidence and fear stems from attachment to the mind and the ego.
When you detach yourself from the mind and ego through self-observation and identify yourself only as an observer, you become unstoppable.
Stay blessed,
Karun
